The Extractive Industry and Climate Change Governance Fund
The Extractive Industry and Climate Change Governance Fund is an initiative of the Africa Centre for Energy Policy (ACEP) and the Ford Foundation to sustain the work of critical CSOs and recalibrate the resilience of the ecosystem to manage existing and emerging equity and social justice questions. The fund has received seed funding of $3 million from the Ford Foundation’s Social Bond as the Foundation’s response to the impact of the covid pandemic on the fight against inequality and injustice.
Focus Areas for Grant Making
The Extractive Industry and Climate Change Governance Fund is granted to support a network of resource governance organizations and civic actors, anti-corruption organisations, budget advocates vulnerable groups, grassroots and community organisations to address significant implementation gaps and advocate for reforms in the following critical resource governance areas:
